Human Resources

Employees receive an excellent benefits package (medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and 401k with an employer match), with two basic medical benefit plans offered at no cost.  Other medical plans are provided at some cost to the employee, and upgraded plans and family coverage included with the employee covering those add-ons.

The Human Resources office offers supervisory training to assist supervisors with their responsibilities and duties. Employee appraisal training is conducted as needed and evaluations are conducted for all employees on an annual basis.

The Human Resources office facilitates TOCC’s hiring processes to ensure that fairness and integrity are practiced.  Employment positions are advertised openly on TOCC’s website and other venues. Applications are accepted by the Human Resources office, who forwards them to the hiring supervisor to review and select candidates qualified for interviews. All interviews are conducted by a panel of TOCC employees who ask a standard set of questions of all interviewees for a given position. Each panel member calculates his or her score independently of the other committee members and the combined scores are tabulated by a human resources representative who facilitated the interview process.   The committee will discuss their scores and agree on who to recommend to the College President for hire.  Upon the College President’s approval of the committee’s recommendation, an offer of employment is made to the candidate. The Human Resources office works diligently to improve the capability, skills, and working conditions of TOCC employees. The office sponsors annual open enrollment benefit meetings and has also hosted health and wellness fairs.
